He served in various editorial capacities with Guideposts, Logos Journal, Charisma, and Ministries Today magazines. He authored over 45 books, including some for well-known public figures such as Kathryn Kuhlman, Corrie ten Boom, Pat Robertson, and others. Buckingham was a leading figure in the Charismatic Movement of the 1970s and 1980s. He was senior pastor of a large interdenominational church in Melbourne, FL.
