Changwon Sculpture Biennale 2012

The theme this year for the 2012 Changwon Sculpture Biennale is Dreaming Island, participated by fifteen artists from Korea and five from overseas. All exhibition works will be permanently placed on the island after the biennale. Majority of the works are made to mingle in with plants and animals, and welcome human touch and interaction. Some artists took the effort to embellish the exhibition to resemble a subterranean museum, or create a space for savoring nature receiving inspiration from sounds of nature, while others made fun rides, attempting various different interpretation of space. Visitors will be welcomed by a fresh approach to sculpture, a refreshing break away from traditional decorative and monumental sculptures.
