When Heather Pethick is found dead at the wheel of her car on a Birmingham back street, DCI Robin Lyons is immediately called to investigate. The single knife wound to Heather's throat leaves little room for doubt: she was murdered.

Robin initially suspects that the cold-blooded killing is a result of organized crime, especially when she learns that Heather lived on a farm with access to secluded coves on the Cornish coastline, ideal for trafficking.
