Elizabeth Barrett Browning's Poetical Works: Vol. IV, XII Ed‪.‬

Published in 1880, this is the fourth in a five-volume collection called Elizabeth Barrett Browning's Poetical Works. It includes her work Poems Before Congress (1860), a collection of political poems written in her adopted homeland, Italy. These poems are best known for their expressing of the poet's sympathy for the Italian cause. The volume was viewed by many of Barrett Browning's readers as anti-English and in poor taste, and thus her final published work before death provoked more negative criticism than any of her other works. Last Poems (1862), published posthumously by her husband, is also included in this volume, along with many of her Greek translations.
