On the morning of 16 March, 1978, Italian politician Aldo Moro and five bodyguards made their way slowly through the rush hour traffic in Rome. Suddenly Red Brigade gunmen opened fire on the convoy killing the five man protection squad. They calmly bundled Moro into a getaway car and vanished into the streets of Rome.
