Imagine the flickering firelight in a prehistoric cave, with the walls covered with an illustrated encyclopedia of Ice Age animals -- some prey, others predators -- imagine your elders telling stories of great hunts, while teaching the skills necessary for daily survival.

Twenty cave wall paintings of amazing Ice Age beasts that existed at the same time as early humans, some as recently as 10,000 years ago. Five foot tall beavers and twenty foot tall camels and many others are beautifully illustrated by Niki Smith.  Each animal is also shown in outline to provide a sense of their enormous size.
