Košljun

If you find yourself near Punat on the southern side of the island of Krk, whether on land or sea or in the air, your attention will almost subconsciously be drawn by the small island of Košljun. The beauty, accessibility and peace this island radiates, bathed in the sea of the Košljunska or Puntarska draga bay, are to many visitors to the island of Krk an invitation to go on a wonderful outing, or as Father Mavro Velnić put it so nicely, “To be on Krk and not to see Košljun is like being in Rome and not seeing the Pope.” This island is one of those places of which it can be said that its cultural and historical wealth and importance vastly exceed the space it occupies. Anyone who has visited it, and many have, certainly has beautiful memories of it, and so it is a shame to miss a chance if you are nearby.
