Mr. Robert's Hexi Corridor EBK

In Mr. Robert’s Hexi Corridor EBK, young readers join the remarkable diplomatic mission of Zhang Qian through China’s Hexi Corridor region. His gripping journey in the 2nd century BCE, which was the precursory event to the development of China’s ancient Silk Road, takes readers into a seemingly lifeless environment of the eastern desert steppe-Gobi Desert region; but the reality is that a broad and diverse amount of animal and plant life survive in that ecosystem. This Wilderness Habitat Discovery Journal is one a series, which describes wildlife habitats around the world. History, science, and reading are blended into the story, which uses a historic personality to engage young readers in exploring this ecosystem while improving their inquiry and reading comprehension skills. ClueQ is interactive component utilized in the story’s text, which contains clues to help young readers answer a question about select wildlife subjects. Adults are encouraged to read and look for the clues in the story with their children.
