Outcastes

Award winning travel photographer Tim Bird has documented a small village in Odisha, India, several times during the past years.


The system of castes does not officially exist in India, but in the day to day lives of the people it is still very much real. In addition to the castes there remain a group of people which are “outcastes”, sometimes referred to as the “untouchables” as well.This book is about them.


This is the first time DocImages publishes rich media in this format and we are proud to have had the opportunity to work with Tim on this project.


The book is done pro bono for a small charity called the Tikau Share in Helsinki, Finland.
