Ready Reference Treatise: The View from Saturday

“The View from Saturday” by E. L. Koningsburg was first published in 1996. It is a children’s novel. The book was the winner of the Newberry Medal for Excellence in American Children’s Literature in 1997.

The book has a highly significant narrative form. The narrative keeps shifting between first person limited and third person omniscient.

There are four students and quiz teammates who narrate one chapter each in the first person. The preface is very skilfully presented and it introduces the respective teammates.
