In his previous book, How I became the Blind Scooter Guy he tells the story of how he rode on a little 150cc two-stroke Vespa scooter, with no support vehicle, all the way from his hometown Cape Town, South Africa to Dublin, Ireland. This trip was where he sadly became ill. An illness that culminated in his sight loss. The book then tells how he put the pieces of his broken life back together and became the travel and adventure writer that he had always aspired to become.


Today, he works as both a writer and a professional inspirational speaker. He is not only an amazing storyteller, he is also an accidental accessibility advocate, an intrepid adventurer, a vintage scooter collector, restorer and enthusiast, a chef, a scuba diver, fisherman, guitar player, boxer, all round petrolhead and roamer of the globe – all this despite his lack of sight.


His words show how, using just the remaining senses of sound, smell, taste and touch, he can today see the world. This is sometimes in a very different way and more often than not, in a clearer way than he ever did while sighted.
