This book is one of a 9-book series, 'Mathematics in Pictures' and it covers the mathematical topics, subtraction and addition. It is aimed particularly at teachers and parents of children under 11 years. 

As the title suggests, a key feature of the approach taken is for children to work with pictures in their learning of these mathematical topics. This creates a firm foundation of intuitive understanding that they will build on later when working more conventionally using mathematical symbols.
