The Exiles Return

The Exiles Return is set in Occupied Vienna in 1954-5. It describes five people who grew up there before the war and have come back to see if they can re-establish the lives they have lost. Published for the first time in 2012, after the author's death, it is introduced by her grandson Edmund de Waal, author of The Hare with Amber Eyes.
