The Gods' Own Voice

This short story is a prelude to the events of the novel "The Prometheus Cycle: the Star, the Sword, and the Mirror" and is the only one of the short stories that does not center on a novel character's origin... but rather, gives a glimpse into the Bleak East, and the mysterious events of the ill fated campaign against the Necromancers by the last High King of the Realm. This is a survivor's story of that dread campaign. Readers of the novel will see a direct connection to Danae Celes of the Order, as the main character in this short story was one of her peers.
