Rising inequality is dividing societies around the world along economic lines. The United States, once the land of opportunity, is now a leader of this trend. GlobalPost Special Reports set out to compare US metropolitan areas with similarly unequal cities around the world. We found a pulling apart of the fabric out of which the American Dream had been woven.
