This short story stages a philosophical debate on the nature of causation. Many would consider such a story boring beyond words. Yet, because the protagonists are clinging to the back of a rampaging donkey, their discussion has enormous currency and moment. And, because the protagonists are primary school children and, for some reason, have yet to fully master the intricacies of philosophy argumentation to the proper standard, their efforts, though well meaning, lack cogency.
