Guns and Grits… 

Sadie Harlow, Benning's sole female agent, is called home to assist her family in an emergency.  Slinging grits and cleaning motel rooms isn't exactly her idea of excitement, or fun. Still, it'll just be for a couple of days, and she can handle that. Barely. 

The last thing she needs is to be confronted on day one by Deputy Truman McCain, the man she offered her virginity to years ago. He'd turned her down then; he's not getting a second chance, no matter how much he still turns her crank. 

Her plans for a quick escape from town are thwarted when a local man turns up dead in the motel and she quickly becomes the likely suspect. Being suspected of murder is a real complication. But not nearly as complicating as Truman, who threatens to work his way back into her life… and her heart.
