Wiping the Slate

This is not a story of my life but of the whole family, as it seemed to me. A very large family, eleven of us - of which I was the last to be born. So, it is missing a great deal of the twenty or so years before I was around, except for the relatively little I was told by my siblings - and I feel all of this very keenly.
