The Beauty Behind My Darkness

This poetry collection is a true labor of love. Many of you may not relate to the pieces of each section, but I hope you can look outside of your personal experiences and see the work for what it is… art. I don’t know why, but poetry has become a medium for most readers to relate to or assist in their personal development. I’ll be the first to say I am always deeply flattered when someone says my work is relatable in some way, but that is not the main goal when publishing my work. I want to share my growth, my story, and my talent with the world, and if it helps people along the way, it is a wonderful connection to share. Remember, if my work isn’t relatable to you, it doesn’t mean it is not worthy of respect or can’t be enjoyed. Most of us listen to songs, watch films, and read novels we don’t relate to, but we still love them because they make us feel something. And suppose you exclusively consume any form of art for its relatability. In that case, you are missing out on an entire world of incredible art. So, I just ask you to read my work with a full heart and open mind. I promise you’ll enjoy and respect my labor in each piece. Even if you conclude that my work isn’t for you, I hope you can still feel the passion and love behind my work.
