Apollo's Sister

Josephine Preston Peabody was an American writer of verse dramas and of poetry that ranged from precise, ethereal verse to works of social concern. One of her most famous works became the collection “Old Greek Folk Stories Told Anew”, published in 1894, included the fanciest versions of the most interesting myths.


“Apollo's Sister” is the well-known legend about Diana, twin-sister of Apollo. The maiden was as untamed and free of heart as the wild creature she loved to hunt, and whoever molested her did so at his peril.
