Babbit Island was known as a quiet town, often described as tranquil, peaceful.  A crime-free community.  Although it was anything but that, which is why U.S. Marshal Jackson Hawk is working undercover to expose the town's corruption and the people behind it.  Too many suicides for a town that small, too many accidental deaths.  Too many deaths, period. 

But as Hawk tries to do his job, a certain little spitfire keeps getting in the way.  Finney Callahan is feisty and stubborn and appears to be running her own investigation no matter how many times Hawk warns her not to get involved.  He worries she's going to end up getting someone killed, and it could very well be her.

Now he must find a way to protect her as well as fight his attraction to her, or they might both be in big trouble.
