This is the moving and extraordinary story of what many in Mexico know as the their countries' most famous kidnapping.  

The abduction of Ernestina Sodi and her sister, the actress Laura Zapata, was perpetrated by a band of professionals, who eventually were, and remain, incarcerated. The sisters were taken hostage in 2002, and although Zapata was released after only 18 days, Ernestina Sodi remained captive for three months until their younger sister, the singer Thalia, wife of former Sony Music Chairman, Tommy Mottola, came up with the ransom. 

Ernestina Sodi endured both physical and psychological abuse which left the lives of both her and her family deeply wounded.  This is the painful account of her confinement; through its pages we penetrate the dark, violent, and merciless world of organized crime where Sodi is a witness to desperation, impotence, rage, and infinite fear, while maintaining the luminous hope of freedom.
