Hales Gate

Hales Gate is a story about a country bar in Southeast Tennessee, the owner, his group of interesting friends, and their struggle to protect their Shangri-la. Joseph Carl Hale, the owner and a man who possesses some unique talents, must battle a local syndicate or risk losing his little spot of paradise. Combining the elements of realism and mysticism, the story reveals the beauty and absurdity found in the effort to enjoy life in a world inhabited by greedy and violent criminals. The questions of who is right or wrong and what is good or evil are sorted out at Hales Gate.
