Honoring Our Environment Through Stories

Descripción editorial

The health of the environment is a contemporary issue that plagues today’s society, perhaps now more urgently than ever. Our living environment is actively under attack, most notably from those who have the greatest power to protect it: humans. Climate change, endangered species, water crises, and many more problems are featured in the news and on our minds daily. The purpose of this book is to provide readers with a new perspective and insight on a widely-talked about subject.

This compilation of works embodies the expressions of Marist College Honors students on the subject of the environment. The following collection, consisting of a range of both creative pieces as well as academic works, represents the various ways in which a single topic can be addressed and analyzed. Environmental research, art, and personal narratives are each mediums through which the world around us can be viewed and explored. The distinctive modes of communication explored in this body of work has allowed students to express their ideas and attitudes about the environment, offering a fuller understanding and appreciation of the subject at hand. This book provides a creative and academic outlet for Honors students to share their work and allow others to gain knowledge and comprehension from it.
