The Art of Origami

“Origami” comes from two Japanese words: “ori” (to fold) and kami (paper). However, it has only been called Origami since 1880.  Before 1880, the art of paper-folding was called Orikata.


It’s impossible to pinpoint how Origami originated. The only concrete things we know about it is that it originated in Japan and that it is strongly connected to the best oriental values: patience, hard work and above everything else, the search for spiritual peace.
