Hector Hugh Munro, better known as Saki, was a British journalist and short-story writer, famous mostly for his works Tobermory and The Open Window. After six years of foreign reporting, Munro gave up his journalist career and began writing short stories, mocking Edwardian society and culture, under the pen name Saki.
First published in 1914 as a part of a short story collection Beasts and Superbeasts, The Quince Tree is an extremely humorous story of a young girl Vera and her aunt, Mrs. Bebberly Cumble, embodying flaws and drawbacks of Edwardian society.
A classic example of Munro's lively, witty and undeniably pleasant style, this book is a real treasure! Do you want to dive deep into the fascinating world of Hector Munro? Then download the book and enjoy the reading!
