How do you teach your baby or young child colors and shapes?

Maybe you show a picture of a simple Green Shirt Button point to it and say "green".

You child now has many choices going on that you don't think about as an adult.
There is a circle, thickness, 4 small circles, 4 small holes, the overall button itself, your finger, the action of you pointing, and the color of the button.
