How to Prevent, Detect, Treat, and Live with The Addict Among Us

The second book by father and prescription drug abuse activist Bradley V. DeHaven, written in response to the outpouring of questions he received in response to his first book, a memoir chronicling what brought him to go undercover to bust a drug dealer to enable his son to enter rehab rather than prison. This book tells the stories of some of the over 400 people the author interviewed over the course of a little over a year. It distills some of the most common, potent and poignant lessons, and provides information about preventing, detecting, treating, and living with drug abuse, in particular, prescription opioid addiction and young people. This book addresses one of the foremost medical health epidemics facing our country today, and the author isn’t afraid to put the blame where he sees it: squarely on the shoulders of the pharmaceutical companies who manufacture and distribute these highly addictive drugs, and who, he notes, benefit from their epidemic abuses. The foreword is written by Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack.
