MATH BLAST

First grade is an exciting and important time in the life of your 6 or 7-year-old. First grade is not just about teaching him or her first steps towards hard concepts or ideas, it is where the fundamental building blocks are laid for important subjects like math. The content for Math Blast is comprised of standards of learning from the Virginia Department of Education’s standards of learning and curriculum framework. Throughout the use of this book, children can review and practice skills in any of the units covered throughout the year. It should serve as a resource and guide for everyone as we strive to build first graders’ skills and strategies for solving a variety of problem types.
