Before your child starts reading our phonics books, make sure they take our quick and easy Phonics Assessment! Kids will read a series of words and phrases to find the phonics level that is just right for them.


Levels to Suit Many Types of Pre-Readers: We have 10 levels of phonics assessment phrases, perfect for ages 3-5.

Start Reading Fast: Once you’ve found your child’s correct level, they can start reading straight away! Just log in to redcatreading.com and navigate to the “All Classes” page. Select your child’s level and start learning phonics with our funny read aloud books.

Why is leveled reading so important? Each level personally suits a child’s reading fluency and comprehension. Levels only introduce new words when your child is ready for them! When children are reading at exactly the right level for them, they will read with confidence and fall in love with reading.




Instructions:

Open the Assessment Book and help your child start reading from page 1.

Keep reading one level at a time until your child starts to struggle with the words.

Go back down one level. This is the level your child should start reading at!
