Repentance and Confession

Confession is truly a divine commandment. This is why the person who has sinned feels his heart burdened and does not find relief unless he confesses his sin. God came to the earth in order to invite all them who have sinned to repent, and, on account of His infinite love for man, He left the sacrament of confession within His Church, so that they who have sinned may receive forgiveness, find peace, and acquire spiritual health. The Holy Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, Church history, and the writings of Christian authors throughout the centuries attest to this truth, and confirm that confession is indeed a God-given, life-saving medicine for man.
