I Never Walk the Halls Alone

Years ago I attended a break out session at a cardiology conference and heard an emergency room physician discuss a situation when he was a resident.  He worked with a crusty, older physician who lacked communication skills.  A woman had been in a car accident and every time the staff would raise the head of the gurney she would pass out.  Perplexed the resident noticed the experinced doc at a distance, peered into the room, rubbed his chin and mumbled, "The last time I say that happen, it was a ruptured slpeen."

The ER physician continued to discuss the amazing value of shared libraries. Each of us have volumes of stories from our lives.  We have work experience and life tragedies and triumphs.  If we do not share our stories with one another, so much is lost.
