Erika Gunderson has spent years learning how to live around the empty chair at her table.

But when one simple meal sent home with a grieving neighbor brings unexpected comfort, Erika begins to see that food can do more than fill a plate—it can make people feel seen, welcomed, and loved.Soon, what starts as one casserole becomes Thursday Supper: a weekly gathering where widows, young mothers, teenagers, newcomers, and old friends find a place to belong. 

As Erika feeds her community, she must also learn to receive the care she so freely gives, share memories of the husband she still loves, and release her sons into futures of their own.
