Private Detective Nick Charles and his quick-witted wife Nora investigate a murder in Prohibition-era New York City. The novel was Dashiell Hammett’s last, first published in Redbook in 1934. Hammett is most famous for his detective novel “The Maltese Falcon”. The Thin Man was made into a 1934 movie and is reportedly being remade starring Johnny Depp.
