“Don’t you want to adopt me, Mrs. Bost? No one would care if you did. There is no one who would even miss me. I think I would like that! Could you? Please?”

I quickly brushed the tears from my eyes and prepared to tell him goodbye as we approached the door.

“I will see you in the morning, Salvador; good night!”

I knew I had to hurry and get out of there before I lost control in front of everyone at the home.

This captivating and true story between a young teacher and an orphaned eight-year-old boy seeks to define true love and the meaning and power of forgiveness through challenging and troubling days. It is

—a story that will capture your heart, and leave you searching for a hurting heart to heal

      —a once-in-a lifetime encounter

Carol B. Bost has been involved in education for thirty-six years, teaching in Tennessee, Texas, and North Carolina. Her experience has included the public and the private sectors, reaching students from kindergarten through eighth grades. After her transformation to Christ in high school, Carol immediately began seeking God’s divine will and purpose for her life. Graduating from Lee College in 1979, Carol taught in the Bradley County School System where she was named “Outstanding Young Educator” by the district. She also taught in the Polk County School System before moving to Texas, teaching in both the Whitehouse Independent School District and the Tyler Independent School District. Being involved in ministry with her husband Tim, Carol then moved home to North Carolina. In 1992, Carol began teaching at First Assembly Christian School, (currently Winston Salem Christian School) where she teaches middle school Bible classes today. In 2007, she was inducted into “The National Honor Roll’s List of Outstanding American Teachers.” “God has blessed me with a wide variety of teaching experiences, but none can come close to the experience I had with young Salvador. Getting this message out has been a dream come true.” Carol has been married to her high school sweetheart, Tim Bost, for thirty-seven years, and they reside in the Winston Salem area.
