Australian Trucking Quarterly
ATQ Summer Edition
Publisher Description
In this special summer edition of Australian Trucking Quarterly we head deep into the Forest to check out some hard-working logging equipment hauling pine and hardwood. Along the way we review a Komatsu 895 Forwarder operating in northeast Tasmania then take a run in the Kenworth T659 8x4 that hauls the logs the Forward stacks beside the bush track.
We ride with Craig Wivell from Walkden Transport in his immaculate T950 as he delivers a new Komatsu WA 500 wheel load to its new home.
Every year in early October the tulips bloom in the northwest town of Wynyard Tasmania, which makes for some stunning photography, and that’s where we headed to visit Bazzajack and their Kenworth 9’OH towing an Elphinstone triaxle log jinker.
Western Star’s 4964FXT ‘Roadstar’ is the latest Limited Edition vehicle to roll onto Australian highways and it boasts a long list of five star features, including the kitchen sink, to commemorate Western Star’s 50th anniversary of the brand from 1967 to 2017, as Howard Shanks discovered.
