Family Memorization Program

While we are very careful to use a Bible based curriculum in our Sunday School, we want to encourage you as parents to use the following memorization program of Bible verses, catechism questions and biblical information with your children.  These cover a wide sampling of doctrine intended to be helpful to your children as they mature in the Lord.

The task of training children in spiritual matters rests primarily on the parents; not the school, not even the Sunday School and Church.  In Deuteronomy 6:5-7 we are all given this command:  "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.  These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts.  Impress them on your children.  Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up."

This course is designed to be taught primarily in the home by parents.  We hope you will work with us in this goal of impressing God's Word upon the hearts of our children.

Each Sunday, your child’s Sunday School teacher will devote 5-10 minutes to discuss and review the memory work for their particular age group.  The Sunday School teachers or the Children’s Director will be available to hear and grade recitation whenever the child is ready to recite.  Please be sure your child brings this booklet with him to church when he is ready to recite.  The memory work will be graded as follows:


Gold star = perfect

Silver star = good

Red star = fair


Of course students may always try again to improve their mark on any of their work.  Awards will be given each year to all students finishing their year’s work.
