George Michael: A Biography

George Michael wanted to be a pop star since he was 9 years old. No one in his family was musical, his mom thought he was crazy, and his Greek father expected him to follow the traditions of his Greek culture and work hard to be successful. His father didn’t think wanting to be a famous pop star was working hard. 


Yet George persevered and because of his untimely and unexpected death on Christmas day 2016, George Michael is more than a pop star; we may think of him as a legend. Why? 

George made his dreams come true. He met Andrew Ridgeley in high school, and they both liked music, so they began a journey together which would lead them to stardom known as Wham! in the 1980s.  Then, later in that decade, after both young men made millions, George continued with his musical career, becoming a solo artist. His first album, Faith, was a combination of hot and sexy love songs and upbeat and rhythmic tunes to dance to. The album sold 25 million copies world-wide!
