The Halsfjord Saga is an historical account of the Halsfjord in Nordland region of Norway told through the Halsan family. The story begins with an ancient people who left their carvings on the rock of Rødøyfjellet (Red Mountain) continuing to the Viking age with Hårak of Tjøtta and the battle of Stikelstad. Tjøtta in Halsfjorden is the home of Viking poet Øyvind Skaldespiller and Petter Dass, the Priest-Poet of Nordland’s fisher-farmers. Seven of the Halsan family will emigrate to America settling in Astoria and Puget Sound. Finally a fateful e-mail reunites the Puget Sound and Halsfjord Halsans.
