Before there was Tarzan, another man ruled the Jungle and roamed with the apes. Kaanga: Lord of the Jungle is one of the most popular and successful of early comic book heroes. First appearing in "Jungle Comics" in 1940, Kaanga quickly became the star of the series and landed his own title in 1949. Together with his mate, Ann, Kaanga works to honor his promise to protect "every living creature, who breathed the free jungle air" from danger.
