Later Never Came Until Now

As a child I was told “you may not understand it now, but you will later.” This advice was given no matter the circumstance. As an adult and I reflect, I realize that I missed so many opportunities to apply what I was being exposed to and learning in the moment. As a child, learning was not rooted in constructivism, or integration. If it was, it was not presented as being interrelated and dependent. Subject matter was distinct. While I was successful in some subjects, I spent so much time trying to make sense and function of the present, that I failed to connect material and really dig deeper into the “later.”
