A Regrettable Proposal

A matching audiobook to a great novel

As you might have guessed upon reading my title I am an enthusiastic reader of Jennie Goutet’s books. I have already read all three novels which are concluding her series of ‘proposals’. In following around the family of Stratford Tunstall, I learned a lot about society and the ton in the beginning of 19th century. It is not only the romance that kept me reading the books but also the story of politics, espionage and adventure. I love to delve into the heads of Stratford and the female heroine Eleanor as the story progresses. Their thoughts sometimes interrupt even the conversation - so the reading of Annadee Morgan had to be apt to those scenes. In my opinion she gave all the characters an individual voice what I think an advantage. I also really liked her soothing voice. But sometimes there were some noises or maybe the microphone wasn’t up to the task in recording regularly. So the quality of the recording could be improved. That’s why I chose to reduce my review on the audiobook to 4 stars. Nonetheless I am going to listen to all the books because I just adore all the characters.
