Fresh Air, Craig Bierko, Rebecca Luker, and Frank Punzo (Nonfiction‪)‬

Stars of The Music Man Craig Bierko and Rebecca Luker, and sales manager for Verizon Communications Frank Punzo on this edition of Fresh Air. The 1957 musical The Music Man by Meredith Wilson is currently being revived on Broadway. In his first Broadway appearance, Bierko plays the lead role of traveling salesman and conman Harold Hill originated by Robert Preston. His co-star Luker plays Marian the Librarian, the role originated by Barbara Cook. This is Luker's fourth Broadway role. Verizon Communications is the official local telecommunications provider for the Republican National Convention. Punzo is responsible for providing the infrastructure that supports telephone service, video conferencing, internet access and video streaming. (Broadcast Date: July 25, 2000)
