WOW...What a unique story and experience!
Parallel was such a special reading experience! It has the feeling of an angsty Contemporary, but with this unique Time Travel twist. I never fully knew what was going on. It's suspenseful, and mysterious, with an angsty forbidden romance at its heart.
→ Quinn and Nick have both been dreaming about each other. Dreams where they are together, but they have never met in real life. But why does this stranger in real life feel like he's everything to her in her dreams?
Nick has a girlfriend, and Quinn is engaged, but their connection seems out of this world... ←
Though Parallel is not a really spicy book, the tension between the MCs and their chemistry was palpable! I wanted them to be together, despite the circumstances.
I usually dislike it when the MCs are together with other people for most of the story, but surprisingly, I didn't mind it here so much. However, the owd/omd got a little tiresome towards the end.
Because this is only book one, it felt more like an introduction to the characters. The focus was more on where they needed to be for the story to develop.
🎧 Narration: Jason Clarke is a well-known name, and one of my favorite narrators. His performance is excellent! I haven't listened to Samantha Brentmoor before (at least not under this name), but she did an incredible job bringing these characters to life!
The ending left so many questions unanswered, and I need to listen to the next book as soon as possible!
I have some theories for book two, and I can't wait to find out if I'm right!
