Rugged and independent, the mountain men who live in the savage Rockies needed great courage just to survive. Not a day passed without wild animals, deadly cutthroats, or hostile elements threatening to destroy them. To protect their homes and families, Nathaniel King and other settlers taught their sons the skills that would help them battle their enemies.
