Wish you could have been in New York for the Bake-off! The Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf was transformed overnight into a huge baking arena where 100 contestants assembled for the 6th Grand National, the most fabulous recipe and baking contest the world has ever known.


The 99 women and 1 man who won a trip to the Waldorf and the chance at one of the big prizes were surprisingly calm as they baked their winning recipes. They worked in the glare of spotlights and popping flashbulbs, with the inquiring lens of the newsreel camera poking into every corner and with TV directors and newspaper reporters swarming all over the place.


Our camera was there, too … and in this book you’ll find exciting pictures of contestants and celebrities at the Grand National. And even though you couldn’t be there with us, you can now enjoy the good eating that comes from the prize-winning recipes. All 100 of these unusual and exciting food ideas are assembled in this book. We’ve baked them all in our Home Service Center kitchens, and have written them up for you in practical, easy-to-follow recipe style. They are adapted for use with Pillsbury’s BEST, the Grand National Flour, the dependable flour you need to bake them with.
