In 1854, Rosa Aarons and her parents travel from London to the Ballarat goldfield. Over the coming months Rosa finds new friends, learns to ride a horse, and organises the United Theatrical and Equestrian Circus. The only thing she doesn’t like is Needlework. But when the miners need a flag to fly at their protest meeting, Rosa discovers that history can be made with a needle and thread.

Since its publication in 2000, A Banner Bold has introduced a generation of children to the Eureka Stockade. In this new edition, the author has included some activities for teachers and students.
