A Heart's Gift

 A war tore them apart, his heart carries him home

Black English navigator Issac Resonne and jewelry designer Penelope Francis have loved each other since childhood. Their marriage coincides with Spain's naval assault on England in 1588. When Issac is taken captive by a Spanish warship, he is offered a choice. Serve as navigator on the Spain vessel for one year, or spend a lifetime enslaved. For Issac, there is only once choice: make his way home to his beloved Penelope.

Certain Issac lives, Penelope vows to reject all suitors. However, her vow is no match for a worried father. When her father accepts several proposals for marriage, Penelope wages a secret campaign to thwart a marriage. A father's frustration and husband's absence leads to the acceptance of a suitor.
