A Mammoth Error

The concept of constructing a device capable of projecting a person through time remains intriguing to many. After all, if you know the future you can control the present. That would be a great power to wield. Yet to change even one small thing in the past could change the present – dramatically (The Butterfly Effect); the person or persons responsible for constructing the device might even cease to exist. This was the very dilemma facing Professor Erik Steinmann and Frans Buchner. Even the slightest error in their calculations could be disastrous and catastrophic.

This thought-provoking story was inspired by the very newspaper article that is featured in the narrative. Yep, many a time, ‘Truth is stranger than Fiction.’
