Bakgrund Behandlingsmassiga framsteg och teknisk utveckling har okat mojligheten for tidigt fodda barn, dvs. fodda fore graviditetsvecka (GV) 37, att overleva. Detta galler aven barn fodda sa tidigt som i 23 GV (1). Barn som fods mycket for tidigt kraver lang vardtid, vanligen fram till fullgangen tid (40 veckor) men i en del fall aven langre. I slutet av vardtiden ar barnen fysiologiskt stabila samtidigt som de fortfarande har ett visst vardbehov, t.ex. sondmatning (2).
